Volleyball is loads of fun and a very friendly game. It’s the only high-energy, no contact, mixed team sport you can play indoors and outdoors - whatever your ability. Now is a great time to give volleyball a go and find out why it is one of the top three most-played sports in the world!
Whether you’re a complete beginner and want to try the game for the first time, or you haven’t played for a while and want to start playing again, male or female, these are the sessions for you!
With the support of Volleyball England's Go-Spike campaign and Suffolk Sport, the Sunday sessions are run with a fun atmosphere and led by Andrew Whitefield. They’re at Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre. To join the sessions, people should come along to Reception at the Leisure Centre and the staff will point you in the right direction. Newcomers are always welcome. Please try to arrive ten minutes early for the first session so that we can make our introductions and get the most out of our time on the court!
The Sunday indoor sessions will resume on the 5th of January and run until the end of April. The 3-4:30pm session is for adults and high school students and cost £3 each for those aged 18 and under and £6 per session for those aged over 18. Please note that the sessions on the 26th of January and 2nd of March will be at the later times of 5:30-7pm due to other events in the sports hall.
Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre is on Beetons Way. The postcode is IP33 3TT. The car park is free on Saturdays and Sundays.
Wear trainers and comfortable sports clothing. Bring water with you; one or two litres is a good amount.
If you'd like more information or have any questions, feel free to get in contact via firstname.lastname@example.org or call or text Andrew Whitefield on 07508 351875.
The club also runs training sessions for the men's first team who will be competing in the Eastern Volleyball Federation Regional Series. Players from our Sunday sessions with the potential to compete in this team will be invited to these sessions.
Once it's warmer outside, the sessions move outdoors for the summer.
