Volleyball is loads of fun and a very friendly game. It’s the only high-energy, no contact, mixed team sport you can play indoors and outdoors - whatever your ability. Now is a great time to give volleyball a go and find out why it is one of the top three most-played sports in the world!
With the support of Volleyball England's Go-Spike campaign, Suffolk Sport and Sport England's Olympic Legacy project, Sportivate, we'ew launching a new club in Ipswich on Saturday afternoons at St Albans School from the start of January. The school is near the hospital. Whether you’re a complete beginner and want to try the game for the first time, or you haven’t played for a while and want to start playing again, male or female, these are the sessions for you!
The Saturday indoor sessions will run from the 11th of January until the end of April from 2-4pm. New players including beginners are always welcome.
The sessions are for adults and high school students and cost £3 each for those aged 18 and under and £6 per session for those aged over 18. All those attending at least five out of the first six sessions will be entered into a draw to win a volleyball! There's also another option to win a volleyball in our design a logo competition; entries can be hand drawn or using a computer and should be given to Andrew Whitefield on or before the 15th of February.
St Albans School is on Digby Road in Ipswich. IP4 3NJ. Come in the entrance, turn left and then go diagonally across the playground. The entrance to the sports hall will then be on your right. Parking is available within the school grounds.
Wear trainers and comfortable sports clothing. Bring water with you; one or two litres is a good amount.
If you'd like more information or have any questions, feel free to get in contact via firstname.lastname@example.org or call or text Andrew Whitefield on 07508 351875.
Once it's warmer outside, the sessions move outdoors for the summer.
